Yesterday, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that Deadpool 3 is in the works with Ryan Reynolds, and that the movie will be both R-Rated and set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Shooting isn’t expected to begin until next year, but the Merc with the Mouth’s debut is clearly imminent, and this promises to serve as a game-changer for this shared world. Shortly after Feige’s comments started making headlines, Reynolds took to Twitter (and Instagram) to share his reaction.
On Twitter, the actor joked that he, “showed [Marvel Studios] Spider-Man 1 & 2 and told them it was Deadpool 1 & 2.” On Instagram, meanwhile, he noted: “First order of business: Find the guy who killed Bambi’s mom.”
It’s obviously going to be very interesting to see what form Deadpool 3 takes in the MCU, and it’s impossible to imagine the movie being standalone in nature. Marvel Studios is bound to want to include some high-profile cameos, while fans dream of seeing Wade Wilson cross paths with Spider-Man.
