American television host and Emmy award winner Larry King has died aged 87.
The statement said: “With profound sadness, Ora Media announced the death of our co-founder, host, and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
“For 63 years and across the platforms of radio, television and digital media, Larry’s many thousands of interviews, awards, and global acclaim stand as a testament to his unique and lasting talent as a broadcaster.
“Additionally, while it was his name appearing in the shows’ titles, Larry always viewed his interview subjects as the true stars of his programs, and himself as merely an unbiased conduit between the guest and audience.”
The statement continued: “Ora Media sends our condolences to his surviving children Larry Jr., Chance, Cannon and the entire King family.”

Larry reportedly had a desire to work in broadcasting from a young age.
He gained his first role in radio after moving to Miami and first appeared on air in 1957.
In 1978, Larry moved to national radio and began working on a nightly Mutual Broadcasting System coast-to-coast broadcast.
He continued to work on radio, gaining a legend of listeners, before he was given his own show.
The broadcaster’s show, Larry King Live, first aired in June 1985 on CNN.
On the programme, Larry would interview a range of guests and cover human interest pieces as well as speaking with celebrities.
Larry interviewed some huge names including Nelson Madela,Richard Nixon and Donald Trump.
His successful show was on air for an impressive 25 years before Larry announced his departure.
The final show was broadcast on December 16, 2010 and Larry continued to host specials with CNN until 2012.
He went on to become a co-founder of Ora TV and signed a deal with Hulu to show his web series Larry King Now.
