There have been reports of a dozen new positive COVID-19 cases among staff members at McDonald’s restaurants across Quebec since last week.
Of the 12 new cases, three McDonald’s staff employees tested positive from Montreal locations.
According to the popular fast-food chain, its “top priority is to protect the health and well-being of our people and our guests,” and McDonald’s says it is “continuing to operate in line with guidance from public health authorities and all levels of government.”
McDonald’s says when a positive coronavirus case is identified in one of its locations, a “thorough cleaning by a certified third-party company” takes place in addition to the franchise’s “existing high standards of cleanliness.”
McDonald’s Canada says it is maintaining a commitment to remain transparent with its employees and guests by regularly updating COVID-19 tracking information on its website.
McDonald’s says it will never release any personal information in order to protect the privacy of its employees and customers.
Since the start of the new year, 49 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported at McDonald’s across Quebec.
