Singer Mary Wilson, a co-founder of legendary Motown group The Supremes, has died at age 76, multiple news outlets are reporting.

According to KCBS-TV, Wilson’s publicist and friend, Jay Schwartz, said the vocalist died Monday at her Henderson, Nevada, home. He did not reveal her cause of death, “Entertainment Tonight” reported.

Wilson was one of the original members of the Detroit-based Primettes, which formed in 1959 and was renamed the Supremes after signing with Motown Records in 1961, KCBS reported. Wilson remained with the group until 1977, according to the news outlet.

Wilson went on to release an autobiography, “Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme,” in 1986, KCBS reported. Two years later, she and fellow former Supremes Diana Ross and Florence Ballard were added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, according to the outlet.

In a social media post early Tuesday, Motown Records called Wilson “a female trailblazer and forever sweetheart of Motown.”

“Your art and your legacy will forever live on in the Motown story,” the post continued. “From our Motown family, rest in paradise.”

Wilson leaves behind a daughter, a son, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, according to “Entertainment Tonight.”
