A man is in custody after causing two car accidents in Saskatoon last night.
At about 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, police received a call about a possible impaired driver on 8th Street.
As police responded to the call, officers saw the suspected impaired driver hit another car, then drive away from the scene of that collision, heading westbound further down 8th Street.
The other driver in the accident, a 28-year-old man, was not injured and was able to drive away, police said.
The suspected impaired driver didn’t make it far — he hit another car in front of the Colonial Pub and Grill, this time totalling both vehicles.
In that accident, the other driver, a 62-year-old man, was trapped in his vehicle and had to be freed with help from the fire department.
Police say he was treated at the scene and didn’t require any further treatment.
The 21-year-old driver who caused both collisions was arrested and has been charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving.
