Gillian Anderson looked sensational accepting her Golden Globe award – 24 years after she first won one.

At the virtual ceremony on Sunday (28 February) Gillian took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role for her portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in series four of The Crown.

Back in 1997, Gillian won a Golden Globe for her iconic role of Agent Dana Scully in The X-Files, and over two decades later, she’s still absolutely on fire.

She accepted this latest win “alone, in a hotel room, in Prague”, in a Dior gown and but with her “hot date” Stella, her new puppy.

Gillian was up against her castmate from The Crown Helena Bonham Carter for the award, as well as Cynthia Nixon (Ratched), Julia Garner (Ozark) and Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy.

Accepting the award, Gillian thanked her former partner and show creator Peter Morgan, for “imagining I could inhabit Mrs T,” and called the controversial figure “an exquisitely multi-dimensional character against the odds.”

She also thanked her co-star Olivia Colman, along with the wardrobe team and hair and makeup, for transforming her into Mrs Thatcher and her ‘helmet’ hair.

Gillian previously had been nominated for playing Agent Scully four times, and also for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television in 2017, for her role in the big-budget adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House.

The Crown won three other Golden Globes; Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series, Drama, for Josh O’Connor’s portrayal of Prince Charles, Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, Drama, for Emma Corrin as Princess Diana, and Best Television Series, Drama.
