The daily tally of new COVID-19 cases in Quebec continued to hover around 1,000 on Sunday as the province reported 1,006 new infections.
The seven-day rolling average for new cases now stands at 1,010 — a reduction of more than 100 since last Sunday.
A total of 351,880 infections have now been confirmed in the province since the first one was reported in February of 2020.
Quebec also announced that nine more fatalities had been attributed to the virus, bringing the province’s death toll to 10,942.
The number of hospitalizations due to the virus decreased for the fifth day in a row, this time dropping by four to 574. Of those patients, 157 are in intensive care — a decrease of two.
On Saturday, Quebec administered 49,609 vaccine doses.
Since the start of its vaccination campaign, the province has received 3,448,799 doses of which it has administered 3,218,214.
