Ontario reports 146 new COVID-19 cases; Seven+ million people now have second vaccine dose

Quebec reported just 69 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday, adding to 93 new cases that were observed on Thursday, but not included in daily updates because of the holiday on Thursday. It was the lowest single-day increase since Aug. 26.

That brings the total number of people infected to 375,019.

There were three deaths reported Friday and four on Thursday.

One death occurred in the previous 24 hours, one occurred between June 25 and June 30 and one occurred before June 25.

A total of 110 people were in hospital, which is a decrease of three, while 34 were in intensive care, the same number as the previous day. There were 113 people in hospital on Thursday, which was a decrease of four. This is the lowest number of hospitalizations since Sept. 8 and the lowest number of ICU patients since Sept. 25.

So far, 11,217 deaths have been reported from the virus.

There were 17,464 tests performed on June 30, and 96,567 doses of the vaccine were administered over two days, including just 7,952 doses on holiday Thursday. So far, 8,514,401 doses have been received by Quebecers. A total of 10,993,905 doses have been delivered to the province to date.

In Montreal, there were 28 cases of the virus reported, 132,776 since the pandemic broke out.
