Mauril-Bélanger elementary in Vanier has become the third school in Ottawa to be closed after an outbreak of COVID-19.

The school on Montgomery Street was closed Monday, said a spokesperson for the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario.

Ottawa Public Health reported an outbreak at the school that involved 11 students.

St. Benedict elementary in Barrhaven and Marius-Barbeau in Herongate remain closed due to outbreaks, according to the school boards.

St. Benedict has an outbreak involving 26 students, according to Ottawa Public Health, which is probably the most number of cases of any school in the province.

The outbreak at Marius-Barbeau was declared on Sept. 14 and now involves 13 students or visitors and two staff, according to OPH.

There are a total of 124 active cases of COVID-19 at Ottawa’s public funded schools, according to data posted by the four school boards on Tuesday.
