Hundreds of thousands of people in Quebec are without power this morning as Hydro-Québec power outages province-wide continue due to intense rain and wind which is currently ripping through the province.
Environment Canada still has most of Southern Quebec under Rainfall and Wind Warnings, as rain continues in some areas and winds are expected to reach up to 100 km/h in regions like Montreal.
In addition to power outages and weather warnings, many are also dealing with the aftermath of significant overnight rain, including many Quebec roads that are threatening to flood, or have already done so.
While it’s clear now that Mayor Valérie Plante’s fear of the incoming weather was well-founded, it looks like we’re seeing the worst of it now. The aftermath of the non-stop rain, in addition to the howling winds, is proving to be a whole lot spookier than any costumes or decor I saw last night.
Take a look below at Environment Canada’s ongoing Weather Warnings as well as Hydro-Québec’s current power outage map and a word from Transport Québec about possible road closures due to flooding.
