A man is recovering from a harrowing experience after being shot by someone on a snowmobile, left out in the wilderness, and forced to walk up to two days to Churchill for help.
Mounties responded to a report last week of a man suffering from a gunshot wound and exposure outside of Churchill.
They say the 29-year-old man told them he had been out trapping when he was shot by someone on a snowmobile who may have mistaken him for an animal.
The victim then walked about eight kilometres to Churchill for help.
He remains in hospital.
RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect, who was described as wearing a black and blue snowsuit and pulling a sled behind his snowmobile.
