Former Glee star Naya Rivera’s cause of death has been ruled as an accident by the medical examiner’s office.
The 33-year-old actress’ body was found in Lake Piru on Monday after she was reported missing last week.
She disappeared on July 8 after going on a boating trip with her son Josey, 4.
Fears grew for the star as her son returned fast asleep on the boat, but his mother was nowhere to be seen.
Ventura County Police department identified Naya’s body on day six of the search.
Now the full autopsy results show the star’s death was an accident – one day after she was confirmed dead by authorities.
The police had to confirm Naya’s identity using her dental records.
According to the medical examiner, she drowned in the lake.
There was no indication that alcohol or drugs had played a part in the star’s death, and no traumatic injuries or evidence of disease were found.
The medical examiner added that specimens from the body will be submitted for toxicology testing.
A report obtained by E! Online stated: “The autopsy findings are consistent with a drowning and the condition of the body is consistent with the time that she was submerged.
“No traumatic injuries or disease processes were identified at autopsy.
