Alberta Health Services has identified a case of COVID-19 at the Whispering Ridge Community School.
In a letter to the parents, the Peace Wapiti Public School Division says the case was confirmed on Saturday, September 12, and they are working with AHS to do what is needed to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
AHS will be contacting the parents, guardians and caretakers of anyone who may have come in contact with the infected individual, as well as any visitors, staff or volunteers who may have been in contact with the person.
The identity of the infected individual is not being released.
The Peace Wapiti Public School Division is asking parents and guardians to monitor their children for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Visitors, volunteers and staff who were at the school are also asked to monitor their health.
The school will be open on Monday for all students who have not been identified as a close contact by AHS. The school will have undergone a rigorous deep-clean before opening it’s doors to students and staff on Monday.
