Coronavirus: Canada's top health officials say second COVID-19 vaccine doses should be done soon - statement

Quebec health officials have added 1,179 new COVID-19 cases and 35 additional deaths.

Of the newly added deaths, eight occurred over the past day, 19 between November 11 and 16, six occurred before November 11, and two at an “unknown date,” according to Santé Quebec.

The number of hospitalizations increased by 14 when compared to Tuesday’s numbers. A total of 652 Quebecers are hospitalized because of the virus, 100 of whom are in intensive care.

Total coronavirus cases in the province have now reached 127,233, along with 6,710 deaths.

Public health reports 1,949,031 total cases and that over 95,000 have been deemed “recoveries.”

The new data has been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Tuesday, November 17, at 6 pm.

“For now, the spread of the COVID-19 is under control in Quebec,” says public health, “but the present weeks are critical.”
