Coronavirus Canada Updates: Saskatchewan has 328 new COVID cases, 300 new recoveries

Three more deaths in Hamilton have been linked to the novel coronavirus.

A woman in her late 90s from Idlewyld Manor died on Sunday. A man in his early 90s from the Village of Wentworth Heights died on Monday. A woman in her early 70s from Hamilton also died on Monday. She wasn’t living in an institution.

Hamilton Public Health Services reports COVID-19 has been linked to 81 deaths in the city.

But the number of new cases on Tuesday was noticeably lower than it has been in the past few days.

There were just 26 new positive tests, making the cumulative total 2,769 since March.

There are 337 people who are actively infected.

Hamilton hospitals are treating 23 COVID-19 patients and 2,345 cases have been resolved.

New outbreak at Rainbow Hill Cleaning

Six workers at Rainbow Cleaning on Greenhill Avenue have COVID-19.

The outbreak was reported on Monday.

Meanwhile, the outbreak at Good Shepherd Women’s Services is over, according to public health.

The largest active outbreak is at Chartwell Willowgrove with 49 total cases (52 residents, 27 staff).

Fortinos worker has COVID-19

A staff member at a Fortinos in Hamilton has tested positive for COVID-19.

Loblaw posted online about the infected worker on Tuesday.

The store is on Centennial Parkway North.

“The last day the team member worked was on Nov. 21,” reads the notice.

“In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores.”

Outbreak at Revera Dover Cliffs Long-Term Care Home
The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Revera Dover Cliffs Long-Term Care Home in Port Dover on Tuesday.

The care home said in a statement that one staff member has tested positive.

“The staff member is at home in self-isolation,” reads the message from Revera. “All residents are in isolation in their rooms and are being monitored twice a day for symptoms.”
