Quebec health officials are reporting 1,564 new COVID-19 cases and 36 virus-related deaths.
According to Santé Quebec, 12 virus-related deaths occurred over the past day; another 22 between December 1 and December 6, and two from earlier in November.
The number of hospitalizations has increased by 17 since Monday to 835, 114 of whom are in intensive care.
Total coronavirus cases in the province have now reached 154,740, along with 7,313 deaths. This is Quebec’s 4th consecutive day of reporting over 1,500 daily cases.
Public health reports 2,115,590 negative cases, with over 110,000 being deemed “recoveries.”

Despite the uptick in cases, public health says “the spread of the COVID-19 is under control in Quebec,” but cites the next few weeks as “critical.”
