The province has released a preliminary update on COVID-19 for Thursday, December 30.

AHS reports the highest single-day count for new COVID cases in the province with an estimated 4,000 positive tests.

The positivity rate was approximately 30 per cent.

Provincially, 323 patients are currently hospitalized with COIVD including 48 who have been admitted to intensive care.

The Alberta Government says the next full update on COVID-19 will be provided on Tuesday, January 4.

Holiday closures are to blame for the lack of COVID numbers over the last week.
