Provincial health officials announced 135 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death in Manitoba Saturday.
Public health officials have reported a total of 376 variant of concern cases in Manitoba including 332 cases of B.1.1.7, 20 cases of B.1.351, zero cases of P.1 and 24 that remain uncategorized.
There are 1,259 active cases in Manitoba, with 141 people in hospital, 32 of them in intensive care.
The five-day test positivity rate is 5.7 in Manitoba, and 5.2 in Winnipeg.
The woman who died was from the Winnipeg health region. She was in her 80s.
Of the new cases announced Friday, 71 are in the Winnipeg health region, 18 in Southern Health; four in Interlake–Eastern; nine in Prairie Mountain; and 33 in Northern Health.
Public health officials advise of a possible exposure to the B.1.1.7 variant of concern on April 1 at the Costco (Regent), 1499 Regent Ave. between 2 and 3 p.m. and the No Frills (Plessis), 1500 Plessis Rd. Unit A, between 2:30 and 4 p.m.Any person concerned about their exposure to or risk of having COVID-19 should call Health Links–Info Santé at 204-788-8200 or (toll-free) 1-888-315-9257 to be screened to see if a test is required, the province said.
