Ontario is reporting 865 new COVID-19 cases Thursday and 14 deaths related to the virus.

The Ministry of Health says four of the deaths happened in the last seven days and the remaining 10 occurred more than a week ago.

The data is based on more than 27,293 tests completed on the previous day.

The province says 35,152 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24-hour period for a total of more than 20.8 million.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says nearly 83.2 per cent of Ontarians 12 and older have received at least one dose and 76.6 per cent have received both shots.

There are currently 162 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 105 on ventilators.

The province says of those in hospital, 231 are unvaccinated individuals, 20 are partially vaccinated and 42 are fully vaccinated.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least six are in an outbreak including Clarion Nursing Home in Stoney Creek and Hampton Terrace Care Centre in Burlington.

An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
