New cases of COVID-19 remain steady in Peel today as the rest of Ontario shows a slight upturn.
Numbers released by the Province of Ontario show 311 new cases in Peel Region, while provincially numbers have climbed to 2,093, the first time since this past weekend that infections have been over the 2,000 mark.
Across the province, 56 more people have died as a result of the virus in the past 24 hours.
Other numbers today show Toronto with 700 new cases, 228 in York Region and 123 in Niagara Region.
Neighbouring municipalities show Hamilton has 94 new cases and Halton Region 64.
Across Ontario there are 1,338 people in the hospital with COVID, with 358 currently in intensive care units and 276 patients requiring ventilation.
