Hospitalizations in Quebec reached a new high during the second wave of Quebec’s coronavirus, as cases continue to soar.
The province recorded 2,265 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, and 39 more people were hospitalized for a total of 1,124 as of Sunday.
Among those in hospital, 150 were in intensive care units, an increase of one from the previous day.
The province also reported 37 additional deaths, seven of which occurred in the last 24 hours for which there is data. A total of 8,060 deaths have now been attributed to the virus in Quebec.
It was the tenth day in a row that more than 2,000 cases were reported.
Meanwhile, nurses continued to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, giving 2,327 doses on Sunday for a total of 19,643. During the same period, the province performed 16,550 more tests.
Montreal recorded the most cases of any region in the province with 946 new cases — a new record for the city. Montérégie was next with 312 cases. Rounding out the top three was Laval with 195.
