The Prairie du Chien Police Department released video of a water rescue on their Facebook page on Thursday.
A woman fell through frozen water on January 15 after attempting to save her dog that had wandered onto the ice and broken through, according to the Telegraph Herald.
The video shows officers arriving on scene and quickly securing themselves to the shore before making their way out onto the ice and hauling her and her dog out of the water and back to safety.
The police chief who spoke with the Telegraph Herald said that the woman was suffering from hypothermia and exhaustion. She was treated at a medical clinic and then released.
