Even More Mushrooms Are Being Recalled In Canada Due To A Listeria Risk, Report

On May 15, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) warned the Canadian public not to consume certain Metro brand enoki mushrooms due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Canadians are urged to check their cupboards for enoki mushrooms packed for Metro brands, with a Universal Product Code (UPC) of 0 59749 94854 8.

The potentially affected products were sold up to and including on May 14, 2021.The recall explains that the mushrooms were sold in Quebec and may have been distributed in other provinces, too.

Anyone with this product at home is advised not to consume it, as foods contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell bad but can still make you very sick.

This is the second enoki mushroom recall in less than 10 days, with a similar product triggering a recall on May 7.
