A second suspect has been arrested by Gatineau police in connection with the killing of Matthew Francis O’Heron, whose body was found near a local gas station Nov. 14.

Nicolas Brazeau-D’Avignon, who had been sought on an arrest warrant since last week, was taken into custody without incident, police said.

he 31-year-old was taken to police headquarters, where he was questioned by investigators. He was expected to appear in court Tuesday to face a charge of second-degree murder.

Last week, Gatineau resident Danny Hamel-Racine, 32, appeared in court to face a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of O’Heron.

The slaying was the third this year in Gatineau. An autopsy found O’Heron died after being stabbed.

Police say more arrests may be made in connection with the murder.
