Robert Maraj, the father of rapper Nicki Minaj, died Saturday after he was struck in a hit-and-run in Long Island.
A representative for Minaj confirmed Maraj’s passing to People magazine.

Nassau County authorities said the incident remains under investigation but confirmed that Maraj, 64, was struck by a vehicle while on foot in Mineola at around 6 p.m., the magazine reported.
The vehicle fled the scene of the accident and has not yet been identified by law enforcement, Billboard reported.
Maraj was initially listed in critical condition at an area hospital, but he was pronounced dead the following day by a hospital physician, according to a Nassau County Police Department news release.
