Peel police say they have arrested a man they’ve been looking for in connection to a homicide investigation on Sunday, after a woman was found dead a couple of days ago.

Police say Linval Ritchie has been arrested and charged. There’s no details about which charges have been laid yet, however, officers say more information will be released on Monday.

On Friday, police said they were looking for the 29-year-old man after a woman was found dead inside of a Brampton home in the area of Aloma Crescent and Avondale Boulevard around 6 a.m.

It’s unknown if the woman lived in the residence. Ritchie is described to have been in an intimate partner relationship with the victim.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation and a cause of death has not been released, but police have previously said the female victim had obvious signs of trauma.

Police have also said they believe this was an isolated incident.

Officers are asking anyone who has information about this woman’s death to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
