Police Charge Three For Driving On Closed Roads

Three drivers have been charged by Grey Bruce OPP with driving on closed highways during the blizzard.

Police say say on Friday December 23rd, many counties were hit with an extreme weather event.

As weather deteriorated emergency responders started to field hundreds of calls for service, some stranded motorists were forced to wait it out until help arrived.

Over the course of the storm, officers in Grey Bruce charged three drivers, each motorists faces a $110 dollar fine, with three demerit points.

The Grey Bruce OPP is reminding motorists that highway closures during extreme weather events are for the safety of everyone.
