A man lost his life early Sunday morning in Laval following an apparent lapse in judgment.
At about 4:50 a.m., a vehicle stopped on the edge of southbound Highway 15.
Laval police spokesperson Stéphanie Beshara said a 20-year-old man exited the vehicle to urinate but, for an unknown reason, he headed toward the road instead of the bushes.
He was struck head-on by a vehicle and was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the parked vehicle, a friend of the victim, was taken to a hospital and treated for shock.
Two women were in the second vehicle. The driver was due to meet police officers on Sunday; Beshara said no charges were expected, since neither alcohol nor speed were factors. On Sunday night, Laval police had no further updates.
