Two men have been shot and killed in East Vancouver.
Vancouver police say officers received a call just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to report a shooting at a home in the area of Commercial Drive and East 11th Avenue.
Both men had died by the time officers and paramedics arrived, according to a VPD release.
“We don’t have anybody in custody for this double homicide,” Sgt. Aaron Roed says. “Our officers are conducting a neighbourhood search looking for any witnesses, any surveillance camera.”
Police aren’t saying whether they’re looking for one suspect or more, and aren’t releasing the victims’ identities at this time.
“It’s very early in the investigation and we’re not releasing any information on the identity of the two people who are deceased. There are some steps we need to take, contacting family, continuing our investigation,” Roed says.
It’s unclear who lives in the home the two men were found in, or if they were residents of the house. Police would not say if the two men were related or knew each other.
The VPD believes the shootings were targeted.
East 11th Avenue remained cordoned off between Commercial and Victoria drives as investigators canvassed the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the VPD’s homicide detectives at 604.717.2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.8477.
