Saskatchewan reports two more COVID-19 deaths

Saskatchewan reported two new deaths and another 249 new cases on Saturday, but the majority of the province’s daily COVID-19 statistics have been delayed.

“Today’s COVID-19 Update has been delayed. The full news release and statistics will be released later this afternoon once the numbers have been finalized,” the province said in a news release. No reason for the delay was given.

A brief summary of the numbers expected Saturday were released, however.

Of the two new deaths, one person was in their 40s from the central east zone and one was over the age of 80 from the north west zone. Saskatchewan’s pandemic death toll now sits at 464.

With the 249 new cases, the province’s total rises to 37,873 cases.

Another 10,490 COVID-19 vaccine doses were also given out on Friday, bringing the total number of doses administered to 334,063.
