Teen dies in snowmobile crash in Ontario

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a 14-year-old boy was killed in a snowmobile crash over the weekend.

It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday in Kearney, Ont.

Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, the Kearney Fire Department and Parry Sound Ambulance Service all responded to a snowmobile crash near Rain Lake Rd. on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Top D trail.

Police learned a 14-year-old boy was riding a snowmobile when it left the trail, and struck a tree. The teen, who has been identified as Mark Ramolla of Springwater Township, was pronounced dead a short time later.

Am OPP Re-constructionist and Technical Collision Investigator are assisting with the investigation.
