If you’ve been wondering about Canada’s COVID-19 benefits, Justin Trudeau has got you covered!
During a press conference on February 9, the prime minister acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, before adding that federal financial support would be sticking around.
He went on to confirm that Canada’s COVID-19 benefits are still available to those who need them and gave a brief explanation of whom each type of benefit could support.
“If you need help while you look for work, the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) and enhanced EI are there for you,” he began.
“If you need to take time off to care for your family, look to the Canada Recovery Caregiver Benefit.
“If you need to stay home from work because you’re sick, the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB) is there to help,” he said.
The prime minister went on to explain some of the supports available to businesses too, before acknowledging that it “isn’t easy” right now.
During the same press conference, the federal government announced that CERB repayments would be scrapped for some Canadians and interest-free support would be there for those who claimed COVID-19 benefits last year.
